12A: Finding buyer behavior N.1
1). Segment: Baby
Boomers who are 70 years or older.
2). Interviews:
·
The first person I interviewed was my
grandmother which is 70 years old. I mentioned to her my idea and asked her in
which situation does she thinks she would use this service. [3] She told me whenever she’s sick or
does not have the time to go to the pharmacy. [4] I told her what she does whenever she’s sick and she emphasized
that she searches on google (although she’s not very good at it) what symptoms
does she has and then drive to the pharmacy as soon as possible.
·
I decided to go to Walgreen around 5:30 pm since
it’s rush time and people are in stuck in traffic. At Walgreens, I interviewed
an older gentleman who was in the pharmacy section. I told him my business idea
and asked him in what situation would he needed the most. [3] Immediately he told me how he hated traffic and how he spent 26
minutes driving just to get to Walgreens. He stated that he’s too old to be
going to places all the time and that he just wanted to stay home.[4] I mentioned to him how he would find
a solution coming to the pharmacy during rush hours and he told me that he
usually comes early in the morning but that day he didn’t because he was with
his grandson in the morning and afternoon.
·
My last interview was with another older
gentleman who was at Walgreens buying some medicine. [3]I explained him my business idea and what he thought about it and
what would be the situation he is more likely to use it and he mentioned that
whenever he is indisposed and does not want to leave his house. He mentioned
that he’s getting older and it’s difficult for him to even to the pharmacy. he
mentioned that his daughter is the one who usually buy him his groceries medicine
and other things. [4] I asked him
what he does when doesn’t have his daughter available and he mentioned that he
just comes to the pharmacy but that he doesn’t have the energy to be moving
around all the time.
5) Findings in my
research: what I learned from these interviews is that my business idea is
most needed when customers are sick or indisposed to even drive to the
pharmacy. In addition, I found out that potential customers would pay a little
extra money for their products to be delivery just to avoid traffic.
6). Conclusions: In
this specific segment, I found out that my business idea is needed the most when
individuals are sick or trying to avoid traffic. Furthermore, I found out that people
would pay for convenience and efficiency since time is a limited source for all
of us.
Nicolas, I loved hearing about your interviews for your product. Specifically, it was super cool to see that you physically went into your "field" and asked questions from people who were maybe even experiencing this problem seconds before you encountered them. You did a great job on this discussion post, I think your findings in your research are going to help you a lot in the long run!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicolas,
ReplyDeleteGreat job getting research in the market. For your idea would the company have to drive to the pharmacy and drive to the person's house or would you incorporate a warehouse facility with mail delivery? I feel like having someone else do it like the guy's daughter is getting rid of only half the problem because it is still inefficient.
Best,
Melissa
